I’ve seen a lot of people trying to return food they purchased for their hurricane stash. Well, unfortunately, a lot of stores can’t resell that food you return, so I’d love for you to spread the word, and consider doing this yourself – to donate it somewhere locally BEFORE taking it back to the store. Obviously, if you’re going to use the food yourself, I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to those of you who may be able to survive sparing that $20-$50 you would get back for the returned food, and give it to organizations here in Central Florida who could really use it.

Here are some responses I received from local grocery store employees and managers regarding food that is returned and, as somewhere to donate the food, try the Second harvest Food Bank at 411 Mercy Drive, Orlando, Florida 32805. (If you know of other Central Florida organizations that accept food donations, please email me to let me know at ashley@k923orlando.com)
