Of course ringing in a new year is a holiday that all country artists celebrate. Maybe one of the biggest! Here are how these artists ring in the New Year and some tips on how to survive it.

The 40th American Music Awards - Backstage And Audience

Luke Bryan talk s about his best NYE yet… “My best New Year’s Eve is definitely when my wife and I started back dating. We started back dating right before Christmas, and we went on a trip down to Florida and met some friends. And her birthday is New Year’s Eve. We celebrated it that night. It was just a great night.”

Keith Urban talks about performing at Nashville’s NYE event…“As cold as it’ll be, it won’t be as cold as the New Year’s the last time we played outdoors which is on the rim of Niagra Falls, and we played outside. It sounds like a dare, but it was crazy. I’m really glad we get to play here [in Nashville] on New Year’s Eve. I’ve lived here for 24 years, and I’ve never played a New Year’s Eve show, so it’ll be cool.”

Kacey Musgraves talks about her new Christmas album… “It ends on a New Year’s Eve note with a song that was written in 1947. It’s called ‘What are You Doing New Years’ it’s this beautiful classic really sweet song and for me New Year’s can be kinda a melancholy type thing sometimes so it was kinda fun to conceptualize that a little bit how to go through Christmas and end on New Years.”

Billy Currington talk about what the new years resolution:“Just um, maybe write more songs. I definitely miss that. I kinda went this way and got away from it and fortunately stay connected to this town (Nashville) and all the great songwriters. And email makes it so easy, you know just ship your song and if you hear a great one you get to come here and record it. But I do miss the songwriting part of it. I look at myself as definitely doing more of it.”

Jon Pardi “scientifically proven” hangover cure…“My hangover cure is Bloody Marys, but be careful – because once you have a couple, don’t go to beer, because if you go to beer, you’re gonna start drinking again and you’ll end up a morning drunk. OR if you want to go the non-alcoholic route, there’s nothing you can do for hangovers. [laughs] You just go deal with it.”

John from Brothers Osborne… “I think it’s kind of funny how we spend literally the last moment and the very first moment of every year being extremely intoxicated, extremely, because you don’t want to wait until like 12:30 to get your buzz on. You’ve got to do it before midnight, and then once midnight happens, you’re like, ‘Omigod! Now it’s time to celebrate even more.’ Debauchery is the literally bookending your entire year.”

Brett Young talk about his New Years resolutions… “You know, I don’t know why I’ve never that’s never really been a thing for me. I feel like I try to keep myself from doing anything all year round that would make me feel guilty enough to have to quit it on the 1st anyways. But I do like the idea of the beginning of the year being the opportunity for a fresh start if you ever need that, and I have a lot of friends that do really lean on New Year’s resolutions.  And so no, it’s never really been a thing for me, but I guess I get it.”

Drake White talks about New Years resolutions… “I think just the spirit of newness and having a new start we all need that.  We all need that as we look at this world right now. Jeez Louise, we have to have some hope. And that’s what I hope music does that’s what I hope the resolutions do. You know that’s what people stand for.  And some people do follow through with ‘em, so I like looking at things in a positive light, and if a resolution is a way to get you to losing weight and get you feeling better or a way to get you to improve your life then I’m all for ‘em.””
