Back in October when Hurricane Matthew came through, Jake Owen had to cancel his annual hometown benefit show he does every year. So this year, or the 10th year in a row, he still gets to do the thing he loves, but in it will be in December this year.

On Dec. 9, Owen will perform in support of organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of Indian River County and others in the singer’s hometown area that aim to help improve the lives of youth. To date, the event has helped raise $1.25 million for St. Jude and several local charities.

“I can’t wait to share this special evening of music with friends and family in my hometown of Vero,” Owen says in a statement. “Giving back has always been important to me in everything I do … I am so honored that people come to hear us play and, in turn, we are able help a lot of people.”
